Mark Ezell

Partner, President

Mark Ezell founded San Miguel Management in 2003 and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company. His experience also includes the establishment and operation of two commercial management departments for other companies. He’s also served as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for an international healthcare marketing firm. With over 25 years of management experience, Mark’s background has centered on services related to commercial real estate, accounting and finance.

More specifically, his focus has been on student housing, multi-family apartments, office, retail and industrial property types. He’s also been directly involved with new construction, rehab and tenant finish projects. Mark has worked with numerous lenders since the late 1980s, and even with the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) during the Savings and Loan Crisis.  Currently, he is on the University Area Partners (UAP) Board of Directors and participates in the West Campus Coalition and the Austin Private Dormitory Association (APDA). His former Board positions include Rockcliff Estates Homeowners Association where he served as Secretary, and the Tierra Madrone Homeowners Association where he served as Treasurer.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas, a Master of Business Administration, is a Licensed Salesperson in Texas and formerly held the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Mike Watson

Partner, Director of Real Estate

Mike Watson oversees all facets of management, marketing and fiscal responsibility for more than $200 million worth of real estate in Florida and Texas. He served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President at Large for the Austin Apartment Assocation in 2011-2012 and has been a member of the University Area Partners since 2008. In addition, Mike was nominated as Professional Designate of the Year in 2011 by both the AAA and TAA. 

Prior to joining San Miguel Management, Mike spent twelve years managing various real estate portfolios for organizations like Billingsley Company and ARC including retail, office, residential, and mixed use developments. He has managed several startups and new construction projects and specializes in purpose-built student housing and distressed asset management. 

Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas, is a Texas Real Estate Salesperson and currently holds the Certified Apartment Manager® (CAM) and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor® (CAPS) designations.  He has proudly served on the Austin Apartment Association's Board of Directors and was also a VP at Large. He taught NAA Certification courses and was a featured speaker at the TAA Education Conference.

Kathryn Parke

Partner, Administrative Director

Kathryn Parke is the Administrative Director for San Miguel Management.  She has accumulated over 30 years of real estate experience with 25 years devoted to the student housing industry.

Since 1992, Kathryn has succesfully managed the Hardin House Dormitory making it one of the premier girl's dormitories in the nation.

Kathryn also oversees the human resource needs of San Miguel Management and handles the daily business responsibilities of the company.

Kathryn earned a Master of Education, a Minor in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Texas.
